What do you believe?

beliefBelief is such a trans-formative energy. When you believe in something, anything in fact, it has the power to transform your life.

The papers and the media are having a field day with the ’swine flu’ as I sit to write the Scribe for May. Do I believe a word of what they are telling us? No. Not for one second do I believe we are in danger, or that a flu coming from pigs has resulted in death.

Do I believe it is yet another scare tactic handed down by people who are filled with greed and having power over others? Yes. I do.

Belief is truly amazing. Belief in SELF and in your ability to do what is right for you, no matter what, is truly an outstanding gift to have.

We are all blessed with belief. We all have free will. We can all choose to believe whatever we choose to believe. That is why I choose not to believe this latest attempt, by a select few, to fill our lives with panic and mayhem. I get to choose this belief because I have placed my trust in my inner knowledge. My in-tuition.

Intuition is tuition from within – we all have it – we don’t all use it or trust it, but we all have it. I trust my intuition more than anything else. It guides me and allows me to see through this latest ‘power over’ attempt.

I can see clearly that swine flu has nothing to do with Mexico or pigs and everything to do with yet another greedy company who has come up with a ‘marvellous’ way to generate a whole heap of cash at our expense. I mean to say, what’s the life of 300,000 pigs mean to anyone…when a company stands to make billions of dollars for spreading a pack of lies to unsuspecting millions…?

Who really cares that every country has gone into overdrive and spent millions of dollars to protect their people from a danger that doesn’t even exist? Who cares?

I care. I truly care. With the whole of my heart and soul I care. I am one person. I have my belief, just as the drug company has theirs, just as those who believe there really is a danger, have theirs. We all believe what we want to believe, but can one person’s belief make a difference?

Well, maybe me on my own holding my belief can’t do much to make a difference to the world around me. But…if enough of us believe then the greedy companies that continue to put their own needs first and hold us to ransom as a result would not be able to get away with what they do. If enough of us believed in our own ability to see through what we are being told then maybe 300,000 pigs wouldn’t be dead, nor a country shut down, nor billions of dollars wasted…maybe, just maybe if enough of us stopped buying into these ‘terror tactics’ then they would cease to exist?

We live in a society where the people/companies with the most power rule. We have stopped trusting ourselves and we have placed that trust into an other’s hands. We have become very clever you see, because we have science that can identify, without a shadow of doubt, that something exists – and then we buy that. We all stop and we buy that. We don’t dig any deeper, we don’t wonder whether someone has been ‘bought’, we don’t question whether it feels right, we just accept. Yep, it’s in the media, it’s in our papers – it must be truth!

The thing is….truth comes from within. Truth is not something you are told, it is something you feel deep within you. Thing is…we have forgotten how to go within. We have forgotten what it feels like to trust our inner knowledge – our in-tuition. We have simply forgotten.

We hand our power over and we believe that we are small and insignificant and that we can’t make a difference. We buy that. We buy it bucket-loads. We live it, breathe it and eat it for breakfast. When enough of us do it…our whole society can be pretty much co-erced into believing anything by anyone with power over us. Truth is, we all have power and we can all make a difference!

And to hit home how much one person can actually do….the story of one very brave and very determined woman named Rosa Parks comes to mind…

When Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man fifty four years ago on December 1, 1955, she was tired and weary from a long day of work.

Rosa Parks was physically tired, but no more than you or I after a long day’s work. In fact, under other circumstances, she would have probably given up her seat willingly to a child or elderly person. But this time Parks was tired of the treatment she and other African Americans received every day of their lives, what with the racism, segregation, and Jim Crow laws of the time.

The rest of Parks’ story is American history…her arrest and trial, a 381-day Montgomery bus boycott, and, finally, the Supreme Court’s ruling in November 1956 that segregation on transportation is unconstitutional.

Rosa Parks believed in herself. Above all else, she believed that the treatment she and other African Americans were receiving was not right, it did not sit with her and so she did what she felt was right. She refused to give up her seat.

Look how much one person believing in SELF can do for the community and for the world!

So…I ask you…

How many times have mother’s had gut feelings about their child not being well only to be scoffed at by the medical profession…only to be proven right later on?

How many times have people been told it’s impossible to do something only to find a possible way to do it?

How many times have people been told that they only have a short time to live only to ‘beat the odds’ and live to a ripe old age?

How many times have children been told they are no good and won’t amount to anything only to go on and become hugely successful?

Why???

Because of BELIEF.

Every one of these stories is about someone standing up for what they believe in. It’s about someone believing in SELF above all else. It’s knowing that the power comes from within and that the change we wish to see in the world – or in our life – begins with US.

When we don’t believe in our SELF we get to believe whatever anyone else wants us to believe. We get to live in fear and lack and pain and struggle and believe that this is our lot in life.

Belief is amazing. Truly amazing.

No athlete, no footy player, no gold medallist can get to where they stand without belief in SELF.

Do you think President Obama got to where he is today – a black man leading the United States of America because he believed what other people thought? No, he believed in himself. He believed he was the right man for the job and he did not waver no matter how hard the road was to walk. You don’t have to have a big dream like Barack Obama to believe in self. Just believe in SELF.

Belief comes from within. We all have it….and, we all get to choose what we believe.

Every moment of every day we get to choose. If we don’t, we end up believing what the ‘world at large’ wants us to believe – which is that we are powerless and others have a strong-hold over us.

There is NO power in that. Not for any of us. Not for the community. Not for Mother Earth.

Victim consciousness doesn’t serve anyone anymore. It is time for each of us to wake up and start trusting our own inner guidance, our own truth. It is time to stop buying into all of what doesn’t feel right and start buying into what your heart knows as truth.

We hold the power. Individually and collectively. We are what the world needs…provided we stand strong and in our own power and live our lives from our heart and not our head.

It is time to trust your own power. To believe in your SELF. Trust your in-tuition to give you the answers you look for ‘out there’ and know that you are your own best judge of what is right and what is not. It is time to listen to that small voice that stirs from within and trust that you know what is best for you.

It is time for us to take responsibility for what we have created and then accept that we all did this together which means we can all change it for the better – together!

But…it starts with each one of us. One person at a time. Just like Rosa Parks.

I know what I believe… Now it’s your turn!

With much love and many blessings, Julianne xxx
