2010 – Year of change
A new year begins. I always love the energy that a new year brings. The maiden embarking on a brand new journey, a new exploration – wondering what will be in store. She is not quite sure what it all means but she is filled with excitement and anticipation at what possibilities await her.
Often the new year brings an escape and another chance to ‘make amends’ or start all over. We often find ourselves finally ‘breathing out’ and feeling that there is order and structure around us after having ’survived’ yet another year and another festive season.
We start new things in the new year. We take up exercise and dieting. We eat differently. We vow to change habits and do things differently. We wipe the slate clean and we vow that this is ‘our year’…and that it will be different!
So, what does the energy of 2010 have in store for us???
In numerological terms it is a three year. It will bring change upon us. It will help us communicate more. It brings the ‘holy trinity’ together – mind, body and spirit. Gone is the polarity of the year before. Almost gone is the slow moving, ever patient energy of the OX (still with us til Valentines day). We have entered a much faster pace year where we get to shift and change things about and they will shift and change with us.
For me – the energy is about bringing the ‘holy trinity’ together. Complete. Whole. It is about embracing life as nature embraces life. Not standing still and being surprised when things shift and move – but by taking a deep breath in and going – yep, this too will pass.
It’s about knowing that everything cycles. Everything in nature – cycles! We cycle. Life cycles. Mother Earth cycles. The Moon cycles. One minute we are here. Next we are not. One minute the sun is shining. The next it is not. One minute you like chocolate. The next you like vanilla. It is about understanding the order in the chaos. Everything just is.
We pick up the energy of the Chinese New Year on February 14. Yes, Valentines Day brings in the Year of the Tiger. [Raohhhhh]. I am sure it will make for some very ‘out there’ Valentines this year!
So, the year of the Tiger gives us an opportunity to free ourselves up and strengthen our inner core. It is time to be courageous, active, and self-assured. Time to be optimistic, passionate and independent. Time to bring out that rebellious streak, be dynamic, and unpredictable. Quick tempered but considerate. Affectionate but careless. The Tiger is a natural born leader and symbolizes power, passion and daring.
Couple this with the energy of ‘CHANGE’ and we might just be in for a ‘wild ride’ during 2010!!!
For those who felt 2009 was slow and full of ‘hardships and challenges’ – this year might just give you the break you are wanting, it might just help you to get things moving in the direction you want – provided of course, you are up for the journey – which might be a little fast moving and irrational – but I am sure it won’t be dull!!!
Look out for massive changes and social upheaval this year. Tigers are truly a force of nature. For all the world appearing at times to be quiet homebodies, Tigers may just as suddenly change course, and pack up to travel to some far-flung exotic destination. As a result, they may sometimes be perceived as irresponsible. This is because few other signs can keep up with the Tiger’s ability to think on their feet, or their primal desire for adventure and first-hand experience of life.
So, all in all, we are in for a ’flamboyant’ if not ’crazy and fun’ year. The energy of the Metal Tiger joining forces with the energy of a Three year is most likely to fill our lives and the life of the planet on which we live with change and change and change and change and hey…change!!!!
So…put your dancing shoes on. Go with the flow and know that ‘this too will pass’.
May you find many moments to breathe deeply and connect with your heart of hearts throughout 2010.
Much love and many blessings for a truly, truly magical year!
