Whaledreamers – DVD review

Whaledreamers is the heartfelt story of the return of an aboriginal whale dreaming tribe from the edge of extinction and the equally, long journey of the whales, not only to survive the slaughter by man, but to engage the human race into waking up in time.

Oil spill – let’s clear it together!

It’s hard to miss the news about the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

What can we do about it?

A few people wrote me (Pat O’Bryan), recalling that years ago I sent out an email inviting everyone to envision Hurricane Rita dissolving before it hit land.

Winter Solstice – June 21, 2010

As I sit to write about the Winter Solstice I find myself in conflict within. Here I am in a nice cosy, warm office building in the city of Melbourne and yet I have chosen (or have I) to go outside armed with some hot soup and a woolly jacket to sit in the gardens and write.

As I walk to the gardens I hesitate more than once as the shade I walk in keeps me feeling cool and wondering what on earth I am doing.

Winter food medicine

At the onset of a common cold, try fresh ginger boiled in water with the white parts of two spring onion stalks. Boil for 10 minutes to make a warming broth and dispel wind and cold.

New Moon in Gemini – 12th June 2010

gemini

Gemini rules the mind. It is an air sign and as such it has highly developed mind skills which can be used in the positive or negative aspects.

As the energy of this Gemini New Moon comes in I feel it gives us an opportunity to reflect upon how we are using our mind and whether it is being a faithful servant (as is its duty) or a tyrant slave-master (as it can be).

Life is for enjoying and sharing with others!

This commercial was shot at the Liverpool Street Subway Station in London.
Only the dancers knew what was happening; the general public didn’t have a clue what was about to unfold.

Vitamins ain’t vitamins

Yes! The quality of the ingredients, the extraction process, the concentration and the synergy of the ingredients all make a difference.

Vitamins aren’t vitamins. How do you tell the difference between what you buy on a supermarket shelf, what is sold in a health shop and what is sold by many direct marketing companies?

Having Trouble Sleeping?

Here is something I often teach people for relaxation – it’s called Progressive Muscular Relaxation (PMR).
PMR moves through the major muscles of the body squeezing and releasing various groups of muscles. By using the mind body connection and the gentle breathing you enter into a conscious state of relaxation.
